The Memorial now stands a little way down from the church opposite the Village Green. Originally this simple marble memorial - listing the names of those who fell in the First World War - was erected above the door of the Reading Room.  The building was demolished in the late 1960's and, once restored by the Parish Council, the memorial was placed in the old wall.
