Roger Jones and ‘From Pharaoh to Freedom’
Just prior to the publication of ´From Pharaoh to
Freedom´ in 1984, Roger gave up teaching to become involved in
full -time
Christian Music. In addition to writing and performing musicals, Roger
also directs Christian Music Ministries, (CMM) who now publish his
material. CMM lead music workshops, conferences, courses and seminars
about worship, praise and renewal throughout this country and abroad, as
well as running a mail order service supplying music and worship
resources.
From Pharaoh to Freedom is a musical of the Passover,
demonstrating the vital relationship between the Jewish Passover
Festival and the Christian celebration of Holy Communion. The musical
consists of 10 songs, and lasts approximately 45 minutes including
narrations. It is a modern musical suitable for all the family.
´Roger seems to have the unique ability to
score music which is lovely to listen to and great fun to sing.´ Rob
Frost, Easter People
´Roger´s music has become established
repertoire right across the spectrum of the church. His music has served
as a bridge between traditional roots and the
growing renewal churches.´ Chris Bowater, Singer -Song-writer
´Roger Jones is the most widely acclaimed composer
of Christian musicals in Britain.´
